What Works for Them Isn't the Point

We often think we need to know how someone else does something in order to do it ourselves.
My sister once asked me how I get up every day and exercise.
At first, I started thinking through all the details…my routine, my habits, what time I go to bed, what motivates me. But then I paused.
I realized that wasn’t really what she was asking. She didn’t actually want to know how I do it. She wanted to know how she could. And those are two different things.
We often look at someone else’s routine, discipline or consistency and think the answer is to follow it.
Follow the same steps. Do it the same way. Get the same result. And that’s not how it works.
What works for anyone of us is built around our lives, our energy, our priorities and timing.
What matters isn’t the exact routine. It’s the decision behind it.
It’s asking ourselves:
What do we actually want? What would that look like in our own lives?
For some of us, it’s early mornings. For others, it’s later in the day.
Some of us need structure. Others need flexibility.
The real shift happens when we stop trying to follow someone else’s way…and start paying attention to what fits ours.
It’s about understanding what matters to us…and building something around that.
We don’t need their way. We need our own.
Wherever you are on your journey, may you find your own truth…find what works for you… and you’ll always be guided to feel at peace inside.
